Joel Silverman's Alternative Show Collar is modeled after his patented Alternative Training Collar, but is specifically designed for dog owners, handlers, and trainers who participate in dog shows. While it incorporates the same core concept, the Show Collar offers a presentation better suited to the show ring while still providing effective handling and control.
The Difference
For decades, professional dog owners, handlers, and trainers have used snake chains in the show ring. While these chains are slimmer and less noticeable than traditional chain collars, they can still create friction that may rub the coat and contribute to hair loss or coat damage on the front of the dog's neck.
The Design
Thanks to its unique design, the soft Biothane® material—not the chain—is what the dog feels against its neck when pressure is applied. This helps provide a gentler, more comfortable experience while maintaining effective control. The Biothane® component is available in five colors and four sizes to accommodate a variety of dogs and personal preferences.
